IEA’s OPEN Energy Technology Bulletin Discusses Bioenergy and Energy Efficiency

The the 75th issue of the IEA's OPEN Energy Technology Bulletin highlights a new bioenergy policy guide and features various articles on energy efficiency.

2 February 2011: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released the 75th issue of its OPEN Energy Technology Bulletin, highlighting newly released documents, proceedings and upcoming events.

The Bulletin highlights a new bioenergy policy guide, including recommendations addressing the food vs. fuel and land use change issues. It features articles addressing the following energy efficiency issues: in home renovation through improvements in demonstrating and marketing energy saving household technologies; in automobiles through a discussion of the 50 by 50 campaign to halve auto emissions globally by 2050; and in India’s industrial sector by noting the challenges it will face in keeping high growth rates while holding emissions in check.

The Bulletin also links to IEA publications on, inter alia: wind energy and social acceptance; climate change talks leading up to the Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa, at the end of 2011; and carbon capture and storage (CCS). [Publication: OPEN Energy Technology Bulletin]
