IEA4 February 2013: Two International Energy Agency (IEA) reports, “Technology Roadmap: Fuel Economy of Road Vehicles” and “Policy Pathways: Improving the Fuel Economy of Road Vehicles – A policy package” have won the Outstanding Low-Carbon Publication Award. The award was presented by the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP), a public-private partnership that supports the development of effective policy and the transition to low carbon vehicles and fuels sponsored the awards.

IEA was honored during an awards ceremony held on 29 January 2013, in London, UK, for highlighting challenges and offering solutions aimed at reducing road transport emissions.

The Roadmap report looks at how existing technologies can be improved to enhance fuel economy of motorized vehicles. The aim is to achieve 30-50% reductions of global fuel consumption per kilometer, from new road vehicles, including two-wheelers by 2030. The Policy Pathway series seeks to enable policy makers to implement the IEA 25 Energy Efficiency Policy Recommendations.
