15 June 2011: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has published an information note on myths and realities of energy challenges and solutions.

The piece, titled “Fact versus fiction,” challenges myths related to: the extent to which electric vehicles could reduce oil dependence; the ability of current governmental commitments to limit global warming to 2°C; that coal-fired power plants are being eliminated; that China’s National Oil Companies are heavily influenced by the Chinese Government; and that a limited supply of lithium will restrict production of electric vehicles.
