14 July 2008: The second meeting of the Group on
International Aviation and Climate Change will meet at the International Civil
Aviation Organization (ICAO) headquarters, in Montréal, Canada, from 14-16 July
2008.

After hearing a UNFCCC briefing on its activities,
delegates are scheduled to review developments since the Group’s first meeting
and discuss the Progress Report on International Aviation and Climate Change
(C-WP/13143). Group participants are also to, inter alia: develop and recommend to the ICAO Council a
Programme of Action and common strategy; discuss and
define a range of goals in the short, medium and long term that could guide the
implementation of the Programme of Action; and identify a menu of
options from which States can choose to limit or reduce greenhouse gas
emissions attributable to international civil aviation. [ICAO Group on
