The document illustrates the uses and importance of radioactive isotopes in climate science, and their application in other areas such as food and agriculture. In particular, it highlights the work of the IAEA’s Food and Agriculture and Water Resources Programmes in promoting more sustainable agricultural production and water resource management, as well as the Agency’s efforts to build national capacity of its member States in conducting independent energy and environmental analysis, and in developing strategic national energy plans.
