GSEP6 May 2014: The Global Sustainable Energy Partnership (GSEP) has launched a website to help share best practices and strategies for the implementation of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in the electricity sector. The site aims to advance a programme of regional conferences GSEP initiated in December 2013 to empower energy decision-makers by facilitating dialogue among public, private and financial sectors.

The website presents 30 case studies that highlight enabling policies and best practices from developing and developed countries across a range of technologies, such as off-grid photovoltaic systems, bio-gas, wind power, smart grids, energy efficiency and mini-hydro. The site also contains background information on the Partnership, as well as publications, expert interviews, news and upcoming conferences.

The portal is part of GSEP’s PPP for Sustainable Electricity Development Program, which was established in 2009 in collaboration with the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) International PPP Center of Excellence. [GSEP PPP Website] [GSEP Website] [IISD RS Story on GSEP and R20 Partnership]
