On commitments and emerging priorities, the newsletter notes outlines activities including under the: Caribbean Challenge; Micronesian Challenge; and formalization of an agreement for the Western Indian Ocean-Consortium to provide technical support to the developing Western Indian Ocean Coastal Challenge.

GLIPSA20 September 2012: The Global Island Partnership (GLISPA) has released an update on its activities, titled “GLISPA Project Update, No.2.” The update includes information on GLISPA events, commitments and emerging opportunities, priorities, and governance and coordination.

On commitments and emerging priorities, the newsletter outlines activities including under the: Caribbean Challenge, including a training of trainers in the Bahamas on development and effective management of Marine Protected Areas in the Abacos; Micronesian Challenge, including the admission of the Micronesia Challenge Trust the US Fiscal 2012 Combined Federal Campaign, which solicits voluntary contributions from US Government employees; and the formalization of an agreement for the Western Indian Ocean-Consortium (WIO-C) to provide technical support to the developing Western Indian Ocean Coastal Challenge (WIO-CC).
