March 2009: The Global Environment Facility-Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (GEF-STAP) will hold a workshop on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), forest conservation, and sustainable forest management on 31 March 2009, in Washington, DC, US. This workshop will constitute GEF-STAP’s contribution to the GEF’s fifth replenishment strategies for climate change, sustainable forest management, land degradation and biodiversity.
Synthesis papers on science-based criteria, as well as on guidelines and options for strategic programmes relevant to land use, land-use change and forestry, sustainable forest management and REDD, will be posted in advance of the meeting. [Workshop Website]
