The meeting addressed GEF-5 draft strategies and the role of the GEF within sustainable forest management, land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF), and Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (REDD) issues, including the potential for actions towards ecosystem restoration and recarbonization using an ecosystem approach.
