March 2014: The European Commission (EC) has released an atlas documenting the diversity of soils across Central and South America and the Caribbean, demonstrating the relationships between soils and their food, fodder and fuel functions.

The atlas also outlines the primary threats to soil such as land use change and over-exploitation. It uses a range of color maps and complements a series of global soil atlases developed by the European Commission. [Publication: Soils Atlas of Latin America and the Caribbean]
