ESMAP Event Considers How to Hasten Progress on SE4ALL Goals

The Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) of the World Bank hosted a Knowledge Exchange Forum on the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative investigating how the international community might better collaborate to achieve SE4ALL's energy access, renewable energy, and energy efficiency goals.

ESMAP6 December 2013: The Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) of the World Bank hosted a Knowledge Exchange Forum on the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) initiative to explore how the international community might better collaborate to achieve SE4ALL’s energy access, renewable energy and energy efficiency goals.

The event was held in two tracks, one on “Achieving Universal Energy Access: Strategy and Vision” and another on “Renewable Energy: From Mapping to Policy to Commercial Investment.” The energy access track held sessions on global strategy, coordination at the field level, and leveraging knowledge to achieve universal access to modern energy. The renewable energy mapping track saw presentations on policy, mapping approaches and technology, as well as on financing.

The event was held on 21 November 2013 in The Hague, the Netherlands. The event was attended by donors, the private sector, technical experts, representatives from ESMAP client countries, other international organizations and civil society. [Press Release and links to presentations] [Meeting agenda]
