The European Environment Agency (EEA) released a report titled 'Monitoring CO2 Emissions from New Passenger Cars in the EU: Summary of Data for 2012,' which highlights a 2.6% decrease in average carbon dioxide emissions from the EU car fleet in 2012.
30 April 2013: The European Environment Agency (EEA) released a report, titled ‘Monitoring CO2 Emissions from New Passenger Cars in the EU: Summary of Data for 2012,’ which highlights a 2.6% decrease in average carbon dioxide emissions from the EU car fleet in 2012.
The report includes an introduction and sections on the 2012 monitoring exercise and trends in new passenger cars. The report analyzes data for the year 2012, from data submitted by a majority of EU member States. The data are used to measure progress towards the objective of reducing carbon emissions from the vehicle fleet to 130 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer (gCO2/km) in 2015. The phasing in of that target commenced in 2012.
