13 July 2016: A report from the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) compiles the executive summaries of voluntary national reviews for the 2016 session of the High-level Political Forum for Sustainable Development (HLPF). The report includes executive summaries from the 22 countries that participated in the VNR, and Syria.

The VNRs outline countries’ progress and challenges in the early stages of implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which took effect on 1 January 2016.

Executive summaries are included from Sierra Leone, Mexico, Venezuela, Turkey, Uganda, Egypt, Estonia, Madagascar, Morocco, Norway, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Samoa, Germany, Syria, Colombia, Togo, Montenegro, China, Finland, France, Georgia, and Switzerland. The VNRs were presented during the Ministerial Segment of the 2016 HLPF. Individual executive summaries and other documents from volunteering countries are available on the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs’ (DESA) platform for inputs.

The HLPF convened at UN Headquarters in New York, US, from 11-20 July, and the VNRs took place on 19-20 July.
