12 August 2008: The Permanent Missions of Pacific Small Island
Developing States (PSIDS) and co-sponsoring States are convening a discussion
on a draft UN General Assembly resolution on the threat of climate change to
international peace and security resolution on 15 August 2008, at UN
Headquarters in New York, US.

Noting that if unaddressed, climate change will
lead to security challenges and destroy small islands because of sea-level
rise, PSIDS states that the UN Charter charges the Security Council to assess
