DESA Launches “Sustainable Development in Action” Registry

The new registry from DESA's Division for Sustainable Development provides access to the voluntary initiatives announced at Rio+20, partnerships for sustainable development and green economy policies.

The database is searchable by thematic areas as well as actor.

The first issue of a newsletter from the registry highlights action network including SE4ALL, the UN Global Compact, and Every Woman Every Child.

RIO+20January 2013: The UN initiative “Sustainable Development in Action” has launched a registry of work being carried out to implement sustainable development, following the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20).

Announcing SD in Action, the Division for Sustainable Development (DSD), UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) notes that Rio+20 “was an action-oriented conference focusing on implementation of sustainable development,” and that the project seeks to highlight the work carried out by UN Member States, the UN system, Major Groups and other stakeholders that is “leading the way to the Future We Want.
