Denmark, PNG to Lead Consultations on Post-2015 Summit

In a letter to UN Member States, UN General Assembly (UNGA) President John Ashe announced the appointment two co-facilitators to lead intergovernmental consultations ahead of the September 2015 summit to adopt the post-2015 development agenda.

UNGA16 January 2014: In a letter to UN Member States, UN General Assembly (UNGA) President John Ashe announced the appointment two co-facilitators to lead intergovernmental consultations ahead of the September 2015 summit to adopt the post-2015 development agenda.

Ib Petersen, Permanent Representative of Denmark, and Robert Guba Aisi, Permanent Representative of Papua New Guinea (PNG), will conduct the informal consultations on the organizational modalities for the summit, which will take place at the level of Heads of State and Government.

Governments agreed to hold the summit in the outcome document of the Special Event to follow-up on efforts made towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (Resolution 68/6), held on 25 September 2013. [Letter of UNGA President] [IISD RS Story on Special Event]
