CMS Issues July/August Bulletin

In the newsletter, an editorial by Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, Executive Secretary of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), announces a preparatory workshop for the African region prior to the 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) to CMS, aimed at enhancing the capacity of CMS negotiators from African countries and preparing participants to negotiate effectively at COP 10.

September 2011: The Secretariat to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) has published its July/August Bulletin, which includes features on: the recent Albatross and Petrel Agreement meeting; dugong conservation in South East Asia; the launch of the Pacific Cetaceans Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Diversity Database; and an article titled “How Dentists Are Saving Borneo’s Rainforest.”

An editorial by Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, CMS Executive Secretary, announces a preparatory workshop for the African region prior to the 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) to CMS. The meeting will be organized jointly by CMS and UNEP’s Division of Environmental Law and Conventions (DELC), with support from Switzerland and Sweden. The intention of the workshop is to enhance the capacity of CMS negotiators from African countries and prepare participants to negotiate effectively at COP 10. [Publication: CMS Bulletin]
