CITES Publishes Draft Guide to Development, Review, Updating and Revision of NBSAPs
story highlights

CITES Secretariat invites parties to comment on a draft guide on the development of NBSAPs.

4 May 2011: The CITES Secretariat has developed a draft guide for CITES Parties on Contributing to the development, review, updating and revision of NBSAPs.

This draft guide was developed following Notification No. 2011/021 of 24 February 2011, in which parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) were invited to consider integrating into National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) national and regional CITES activities that contribute to the effective implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and Aichi Biodiversity Targets, as well as the conservation and sustainable use of wild fauna and flora.

CITES Parties are invited to make use of the draft guide and to provide the Secretariat with any comments they might have on its usefulness, content and format. Such feedback will assist in the finalization of the Guide. [CITES Notification]
