CITES2 September 2011: The Secretariat to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) has announced that its Animals Committee (AC) and Plants Committee (PC) have established a joint intersessional working group to prepare a draft of the guidance or guidelines referred to in Decision 15.24 on non-detriment findings (NDFs).

The working group’s establishment arises from the conclusions of the 19th meeting of the PC (Geneva, April 2011) and the 25th meeting of the AC (Geneva, July 2011).

According to the CITES notification, the group will prepare the draft by 22 January 2012, for circulation to Parties so their comments may be considered during the joint AC/PC meeting convening in March 2012. [CITES Notification]
