CIFOR Outlines Emerging Research Priorities

The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) has released a report to inform donors, partners and staff on how the Center's research priorities align with its vision to keep forests high on the political agenda, and to promote understanding of the importance of forests for livelihoods and ecosystem services.

CIFORDecember 2013: The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) has released a report to inform donors, partners and staff on how the Center’s research priorities align with its vision to keep forests high on the political agenda, and to promote understanding of the importance of forests for livelihoods and ecosystem services.

The ‘CIFOR Research Priorities 2013-2014’ outlines current research themes and priorities in regard to CGIAR’s Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry, and Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security. It further outlines emerging priorities on evidence-based forestry; the landscape approach; forests, food security, and nutrition; and migration, urbanization and remittances. The report also describes prospective research priorities on financing sustainable landscapes, the green economy, and corporate governance. The publication will be updated yearly with input from CIFOR’s annual meeting.
