CIFOR Newsletter Focuses on the Landscape Approach

The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) released the August edition of its online newsletter highlighting the launch of the online portal on the landscape approach, landscapes.org, as well as the convening of the Global Landscapes Forum.

CIFORAugust 2013: The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) released the August edition of its online newsletter highlighting the launch of the online portal on the landscape approach, as well as the convening of the Global Landscapes Forum.

The newsletter also reports on blog posts addressing the participation of women in forest governance in Africa and Latin America, the potential of climate change adaptation to promote the peace process in the Central African Republic, and the disproportionate role of large trees in above-ground biomass storage. Additional blog posts focus on the contribution of fast-growing trees to the economy of the Amazon, the importance of good-design for benefit-sharing systems under REDD+, and methods of social knowledge transfer in traditional honey production in India.

Finally, the newsletter notes upcoming events related to forests and forestry, agriculture, sustainable land management, and food and nutrition.
