CEM Announces Online Availability of Global Atlas for Solar and Wind

The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) has announced the online availability of the Global Atlas for Solar and Wind, which provides data to facilitate the evaluation of renewable energy potentials, and which has been developed by CEM's Multilateral Solar and Wind Working Group in cooperation with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

CEM - IRENA14 February 2013: The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) has announced the online availability of the Global Atlas for Solar and Wind, which provides data to facilitate the evaluation of renewable energy potentials.

The Atlas aims to assist policy makers in the planning and developing renewable energy policy, as well as investors in assessing new and emerging markets for renewable energy. In 2013, the Atlas will be expanded with solar and wind expert analysis modules and in the future, data for geothermal energy, hydropower and bioenergy will also be added.

The Atlas was developed by CEM’s Multilateral Solar and Wind Working Group in cooperation with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). [CEM Press Release] [Global Atlas for Solar and Wind]
