5 November 2014: At its 70th meeting, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Accreditation Panel (CDM-AP) agreed, among other things, on recommendations to the UNFCCC Secretariat regarding the numbers, frequency and timing for assessments of Designated Operational Entities (DOEs), with a view to ensure the integrity of the accreditation process.
At the meeting, which was held from 3-5 November 2014, in Bonn, Germany, the CDM-AP also considered matters relating to performance management and regulatory matters, including standards and procedures.
On regulatory matters, the Panel analyzed the proposal included in the draft decision on synergy relating to accreditation (FCCC/SBI/2014/L.4/Add.1). It agreed to recommend to the CDM Executive Board that in the short term, the Board should accept, with immediate effect, the request of the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC) for the partial adoption of the CDM accreditation system, and in the long term, consider having a common accreditation system for future mechanisms.
