1 June 2009: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is inviting nominations for a sub-regional capacity building workshop for South-Eastern Asia on forest biodiversity and climate change, to be held from 2-5 September 2009, in Singapore City, Singapore.

The Workshop will seek to build parties’ capacities towards achieving synergies and complementarities among the implementation of the CBD forest biodiversity work programme, the non-legally binding instrument on all types of forests of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF), and forest-related climate change mitigation and adaptation activities, including those currently discussed under the UNFCCC. The workshop will also seek to strengthen coordination among the national focal points for the CBD, UNFF and the UNFCCC.
