CBD Secretariat Seeks Expressions of Interest for Wildlife Management Partnership

Its thematic scope would be on sustainable harvesting of wild animals in tropical and sub-tropical countries for food and non-food purposes, including for medicinal use.

CBD19 January 2012: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has issued a notification soliciting expressions of interest for participating in a collaborative partnership on sustainable wildlife management, pursuant to recommendation XV/6 of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA).

As recommended by SBSTTA, the collaborative partnership on sustainable wildlife management would aim to enhance cooperation and coordination for implementation of the recommendations of the Liaison Group on Bushmeat. Its thematic scope would be on sustainable harvesting of wild animals in tropical and sub-tropical countries for food and non-food purposes, including for medicinal use. Expressions of interest should be submitted prior to the end of the eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the CBD, to be held from 8-19 October 2012, to Hyderabad, India.
