CBD Secretariat Calls for Nominations for AHTEG on Invasive Alien Species

The CBD Secretariat is calling for nominations of experts to participate in the meeting of the ad hoc technical expert group (AHTEG) on addressing the risks associated with the introduction of invasive alien species (IAS) as pets, aquarium and terrarium species, live bait and live food.

12 November 2010: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has called for nominations of experts to participate in the meeting of the ad hoc technical expert group (AHTEG) on addressing the risks associated with the introduction of invasive alien species (IAS) as pets, aquarium and terrarium species, live bait and live food.

The AHTEG is scheduled to meet from 2-4 February 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Parties and relevant organizations are invited to submit a nomination to the CBD Secretariat by 15 December 2010, taking into consideration the terms of reference for the AHTEG. The selection of experts will be based on expertise and experience, balanced regional and sectoral participation and gender balance.
