CBD Releases November Issue of REDD+ and Biodiversity Newsletter

The newsletter includes reports on: REDD-related decisions of CBD COP 10; a global expert workshop on biodiversity benefits of REDD held in September 2010, in Nairobi, Kenya; and a webinar on REDD biodiversity benefits held on 15 November 2010.

19 November 2010: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has released the November volume of its REDD+ and Biodiversity newsletter.

The newsletter aims to inform CBD National Focal Points and CBD partners about biodiversity aspects in relation to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks (REDD+). The November 2010 issue includes reports on: REDD-related decisions of the tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) to the CBD; a global expert workshop on biodiversity benefits of REDD held in September 2010, in Nairobi, Kenya; and a webinar on REDD biodiversity benefits held on 15 November 2010. Reviewed publications include a Freiburg University policy paper on greening REDD+ and a Forests Dialogue publication on REDD+, community and biodiversity. [The Newsletter]
