CBD Releases January Issue of REDD+ and Biodiversity Newsletter

The January issue of "REDD+ and Biodiversity e-Newsletter" includes updates on regional workshops on biodiversity safeguards, CBD's presence at the Cancun Climate Change Conference, and new resources and publications on biodiversity aspects of REDD+.

February 2011: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has released the January issue of its “REDD+ and Biodiversity e-Newsletter.”

The newsletter aims to inform CBD National Focal Points and CBD partners about biodiversity aspects in relation to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of carbon stocks (REDD+). The January 2011 issue includes updates on: regional workshops on biodiversity safeguards; CBD’s presence at the Cancun Climate Change Conference; online resources on carbon, biodiversity and ecosystem services; and recent publications, including “The Little Biodiversity Finance Book” and “Biodiversity Conservation in the REDD.” [Publication: REDD+ and Biodiversity e-Newsletter]
