CBD Invites Action Plans for PoWPA Implementation

The development of national action plans for implementation of the CBD programme of work on protected areas (PoWPA) has been facilitated through a series of sub-regional capacity-building workshops to support implementation of the PoWPA, held thus far for West Africa, the Pacific, and South, East and South-East Asia.

Parties are invited to submit their action plans by 31 March 2012, in preparation for CBD COP 11.

CBD26 January 2012: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has requested Parties to submit action plans for the implementation of the CBD programme of work on protected areas (PoWPA).

Preparation of the action plans has been facilitated through a series of sub-regional capacity-building workshops to support implementation of the PoWPA, held thus far for West Africa, the Pacific, and South, East and South-East Asia.

Submissions are invited before 31 March 2012, to enable the Secretariat to prepare documentation for the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 11), to be held in October 2012, in Hyderabad, India. [CBD Notification]
