Capacity Building and Technology Update: UNFCCC Builds Capacity on Mitigation, GHG Reporting
story highlights

The CTCN and the EU CARISMA project on innovation for climate change mitigation organized a course on climate change mitigation.

As part of its ongoing technical assistance on saline water purification for households and low-cost durable housing technology for coastal areas of Bangladesh, the CTCN, jointly with UNIDO, issued a call for proposals for the technologies.

The UNFCCC Secretariat published a report titled ‘Regional training workshops on sustainable national greenhouse gas inventory management systems and the use of the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories’.

22 August 2017: This update on capacity building and technology focuses on news from the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) and the UNFCCC Secretariat. The CTCN organized a summer course on climate change mitigation and issued a call for proposals for technologies required under its ongoing technical assistance in Bangladesh. The UNFCCC Secretariat issued a report on its two regional workshops on the sustainable management of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory systems in Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The CTCN and the European Union (EU) CARISMA project on innovation for climate change mitigation organized a course on climate change mitigation. Offered as part of the Radboud Summer School programme in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, the course took place from 14-18 August 2017. The CTCN is the implementation arm of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism, hosted by UN Environment (UNEP) and the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
