The Basel, Stockholm and Rotterdam (BRS) Conventions Secretariat has released its sixth Technical Assistance Newsletter.

The October 2014 newsletter includes brief updates on recent technical assistance activities, news, and upcoming events.

Basel-Rotterdam-StockholmOctober 2014: The Basel, Stockholm and Rotterdam (BRS) Conventions Secretariat has released its sixth Technical Assistance Newsletter. The October 2014 newsletter includes brief updates on recent technical assistance activities, news, and upcoming events.

On activities, the newsletter outlines, among other activities: the release of a Caribbean guidance document on the environmentally sound management of electronic waste (e-waste); an inter-agency workshop on the sound management of industrial chemicals, with special emphasis on asbestos for China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Viet Nam; and the Swedish Chemicals Agency’s (KemI’s) support for chemicals management in Africa including the convening of regional training workshops in Botswana, Lesotho, Mauritius, Namibia and Zambia.
