africanunionlogo31 January 2014: The Assembly of Heads and State and Government has adopted the Common African Position on the Post-2015 Development Agenda, among other decisions, at the 22nd Annual African Union (AU) Summit.

In its decision, the Assembly requests the High Level Committee on the Post-2015 Development Agenda to meet “as soon as possible” to launch the Common African Position in Ndjamena, Chad. The Assembly also endorsed the articulation of African development goals consistent with existing African frameworks, and agreed that African development goals, especially in the post-2015 period, should serve as milestones for monitoring progress towards its Agenda 2063.
