25 March 2013: The UNFCCC Secretariat has reported that Afghanistan is the 192th country or regional economic integration organization to deposit its instrument of ratification or accession to the Kyoto Protocol.

Having submitted its instrument of accession on 25 March 2013, the Protocol will enter into force for Afghanistan on 23 June 2013, in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol’s rules. [Status of Ratification of the Kyoto Protocol]
