AfDB Holds Climate Change and Agriculture Training

The African Development Bank (AfDB) organized a workshop on climate change, agriculture and natural resources, which aimed to examine the impacts of climate change and raise the awareness of high level Bank officials on the vulnerability of the African continent.

AfDB8 February 2012: With the support of the UK Department for International Development (DFID), the African Development Bank (AfDB) organized a workshop on climate change, agriculture and natural resources in Tunis, Tunisia, from 26-27 January 2012.

The training workshop aimed to examine the impacts of climate change and raise the awareness of high level Bank officials on the vulnerability of the African continent. According to the AfDB, the workshop was also successful in building participants’ capacity in better understanding and following the ongoing climate change negotiations.

Nogoye Thiam, AfDB Climate Change Expert, called for adapting climate data to the needs of farmers and using the appropriate information channels to reach the “real targets.” [AfDB Press Release (in French)]
