ADB Reports on Water Financing Partnership Facility Activities

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) published the ‘Water Financing Partnership Facility (WFPF): Semiannual Progress Report January to June 2014,' which highlights activities such as: the 3rd Asian Sanitation Dialogue, which took place in May 2014; completion of nine projects and/or activities; and approval of US$862 million in loans.

ADBAugust 2014: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) published the ‘Water Financing Partnership Facility (WFPF): Semiannual Progress Report January to June 2014,’ which highlights activities such as: the 3rd Asian Sanitation Dialogue, which took place in May 2014; completion of nine projects and/or activities; and approval of US$862 million in loans.

The report: includes highlights and key achievements for the period; details progress on planned activities, as well as towards impact, outcomes and outputs; assesses the financial status of the WFPF; and provides an overview of planned activities for the second half of 2014.

During the period under review, the Facility supported projects including the ‘Irrigation Management Improvement Project’ in Bangladesh and ‘Capacity Building on Business Management for Water Supply Companies’ in Viet Nam.

The WFPF was launched on 29 November 2006 to channel finance and knowledge resources towards implementation of the ADB Water Financing Programme and is now composed of three funds: the Multidonor Trust Fund funded by Australia, Austria, Norway, Spain and Switzerland; the Netherlands Trust Fund; and the Sanitation Financing Partnership Trust Fund supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
