The SEED Initiative, which sponsors start-up social and environmental entrepreneurs from emerging economies and developing countries, has opened nominations for its 2014 Awards.

Seed Awards 147011 February 2014: The SEED Initiative, which sponsors start-up social and environmental entrepreneurs from emerging economies and developing countries, has opened nominations for its 2014 Awards.

SEED Awards will be awarded to up to: 30 SEED Africa to enterprises in Ethiopia, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania and Uganda; 12 SEED South Africa Awards; ten SEED Low Carbon Awards in Colombia, India, Tanzania, Uganda and Viet Nam; and three SEED Gender Equality Awards to non-Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries.

The deadline for applications is 8 April 2014. The SEED Award is sponsored by the EU, the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, UN Women and the Government of Flanders. The SEED Initiative is a global partnership for action on the green economy to support small-scale start-up, social and environmental entrepreneurs globally.
