January 2009: The 2009 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum will take place from 28 January 2009-1 February 2009, in Davos, Switzerland, under the theme “Shaping the Post-Crisis World.”

Forty-two heads of state and government have confirmed their participation in the meeting, joining business leaders as well as NGOs, trade unions and experts from a wide range of fields. Participants will focus on managing the current economic crisis and shaping the entire post-crisis agenda, from economic reform to climate change. The programmatic tracks of the event include: addressing the challenges of sustainability and development; and catalysing the next wave of growth through innovation, science and technology.
