August 2008: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a new-look
newsletter, which, in addition to sections on mitigation, adaptation, finance
and technology, includes a special focus on reducing emissions from
deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, and a summary of
key UNFCCC statements.

The issue also features a guest article by Richard
Muyungi, Chairman of the Climate Change Adaptation Fund Board and Assistant
Director, Vice President’s Office, Tanzania, entitled “Climate Change
Adaptation Fund: A Unique and Key Financing Mechanism for Adaptation Needs in
Developing Countries,” as well as a list of upcoming events. [The
