This event is organized as part of the preparatory process for the UN Economic and Social Council's (ECOSOC) 2013 Annual Ministerial Review (AMR), to be held in July, and will consider the theme “Shaping tomorrow’s innovators: Leveraging science, technology, innovation and culture for today’s youth”. The AMR will consider the theme “Shaping tomorrow’s innovators: Science, technology and innovation, and the potential of culture, for promoting sustainable development and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)”. The event is being organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) in collaboration with the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), the UN Develompent Programme (UNDP), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), and with the support of “New York Tech Meet Up”. The outcome of the discussions will be shared with Member States at ECOSOC’s High-level Segment in July 2013. Registration is required.
