World Water Week 2024 will focus on the theme, ‘Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future’. The theme invites participants to recognize the regional and global interconnectivity of communities and nations and underscores the importance of a collaborative effort to achieve a peaceful, sustainable future. World Water Week 2024 will focus on water cooperation for peace and security in its broadest sense – for human security, food and nutrition security, ecosystem security, energy security, and the relationships among these areas.
The Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) organizes World Water Week on an annual basis, selecting one theme to set and reflect the global agenda. World Water Week 2024 aims to be an inclusive, hands-on conference for people who want to use water as a tool to change the world and promote opportunities for effective water cooperation. In the years 2023-2027, World Water Week offers an opportunity to implement the commitments made at the UN 2023 Water Conference.
