Organized by UN-Water, World Water Day 2016 will convene under the theme, 'Water and Jobs,' in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO). In observance of the day, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), ILO and other contributors will launch the UN World Water Development Report (WWDR) 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland. A regional launch will be held in Beijing, China. World Water Day was established in 1992 during the UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), and commences under a different theme annually.
