The World Telecommunication Development Conference 2017 (WTDC-17) will convene under the theme 'ICT for the SDGs'. The event will discuss the contribution of the ICT sector to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provide guidance on the future of the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D). WTDCs address topics, projects and programmes related to telecommunication development, define strategies and objectives for telecommunication/ICT development, and provide guidance to the International Telecommunications Union's (ITU) Development Sector.
