World Oceans Day has been celebrated annually, on 8 June, since the UN General Assembly adopted resolution 63/111 in December 2008. The Day seeks to: remind everyone of the major part the Ocean has in everyday life; inform the public on the impact of the human actions on the Ocean; develop a worldwide movement of citizen, towards the Ocean; and mobilize and unite the world’s population on a project for the sustainable management of the World Ocean.
