World Food Day 2016

Organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and partners, World Food Day 2016 will be celebrated under the theme 'Climate is Changing, Food and Agriculture Must too,' with a focus on raising awareness about the actions people around the world can take to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The official World Food Day Ceremony will take place at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy on Friday, 14 October, coinciding with the Second Meeting of Mayors committed to the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact. On Sunday, 16 October, a Zero Hunger Run will take place in Rome to recall Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 (end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture). FAO also invites contributions to poster and video contests to illustrate the World Food Day theme. Further events will be held at different locations around the world, including a World Food Festival in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and a Children's Poster Competition organized by the Rajshahi Education Board in Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
