Workshop to Reduce Mercury Use and Release in Products for the Asia Pacific

The 24th session of the UNEP Governing Council called for increased efforts to address the global challenge to reduce risks from releases of mercury by reducing the global mercury demand. This workshop aims to: strengthen awareness on mercury toxicology, exposure pathways, use and release in products and processes; gain an understanding of mercury flow in trade and on mercury inventories and databases; promote the exchange of information on mercury product substitution and best management practices to reduce mercury from products; promote the global partnership on mercury, particularly on products; and develop action plans aimed at reducing mercury use and release from products.
