This World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) workshop aims to bring together science, industry, and technology experts to exchange information and to coordinate research activities across disciplines to try to resolve the unexplained discrepancy between the estimated sources and sinks of carbon tetrachloride, an ozone depleting substance and greenhouse gas, with its abundance observations. The WCRP is jointly sponsored by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the International Council for Science (ICSU).
