This workshop will seek to improve the collection, analysis and dissemination of forestry statistics, as well as address statistical issues and discrepancies in reporting forest products output and trade. The workshop will bring together representatives from China’s major forestry provinces, China’s State Forestry Administration, the Chinese Academy of Forestry, the National Statistical Office, the Chinese National Poplar Commission, China Timber and Paper Associations and other relevant organizations. The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), and Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) are sponsoring and hosting the event. A field trip in Hainan will be take place on 16 March 2013.
