Special Event to Follow up Efforts Made Towards Achieving the MDGs

The President of the 68th UN General Assembly (UNGA) will host a one-day Special Event to Follow up Efforts Made Towards Achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This will represent the occasion for leaders to identify actions to complete the MDG process and to provide guidance on priorities to focus on. The date of the meeting has been agreed through consultations, which continue to define various aspects of the event. Modalities were announced in a letter of UNGA President Vuk Jeremic on 16 July 2013. As part of the event, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will present his report on acceleration of the MDGs and post-2015 development agenda, 'A Life of Dignity for All,' released in August 2013. The draft agenda is available here: http://www.un.org/en/ga/president/67/pdf/MDG%20event%20draft%20programme%204%20Sept%20ju%20rev.pdf
