The UN General Assembly's (UNGA) Second Committee is holding a side event on ‘Sustainable strategies for eradicating poverty through youth employment and entrepreneurship'. The event will examine employment policies and skills development programmes to accelerate the transition for youth to decent work through addressing questions related to: actions governments can take to facilitate transitions of youth to decent work; who becomes a youth entrepreneur; and the benefits and challenges of entrepreneurship. The event will feature speakers from Uganda, New Caledonia, Niger and the US. The outcomes will serve as an input for the Commission for Social Development.
