This high-level event will focus on appropriate measures and required policies to promote effective international cooperation for the realization of the right to development as an integral part of all human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as a requirement to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The President of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) is organizing this one-day high-level segment, which will include a high-level opening segment, with high-level keynote speakers, and a general debate on measures and policies to promote and realize the right to development. Member States are invited to participate at the highest level possible.
